About
Dr. Kristina Schmidt studied mechanical engineering and holds a PhD in
microsystem technology. After her PhD she spent four years as a group
leader at the Institute for Molecular Biotechnology, Jena. During that
time she headed a group in the field of microsystem technology,
developing microfluidical systems for biochemical applications.
In 1998 Kristina joined Graffinity Pharmaceuticals. She was one of the
founding members of the company and was a key driver in the development
of Graffinity’s chemical microarray and SPR instrumentation platform.
Following the merger of Graffinity with Myocontract, Basel to Santhera
Pharmaceuticals AG, Kristina became responsible for the Graffinity
business unit. Beginning 2006 Kristina drove the management buyout of
Graffinity from Santhera and is now CEO of the new Graffinity
Pharmaceuticals GmbH.

About
Mathias Woker is leading the commercial activities of
Graffinity and is based in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. In prior
appointments he headed the business and licensing functions of
Spherics, Inc., Rhode Island, and Ingenium Pharmaceuticals AG, Munich.
He also served as Manager of Business Development at Vertex
Pharmaceuticals in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Prior to working in the biotech industry, Mr. Woker worked as a
management consultant at a spin-off of McKinsey & Company. He
holds an MBA in Finance from The George Washington University in
Washington, D.C. and a Diplom-Betriebswirt degree from the European
Business Program in Muenster, Germany. |
